The event will start with lunch and finish with wine and cheese
Workshop AIMS
1. To make new connections between York researchers in the field of energy and environment
2. To help position York researchers to apply for forthcoming funding in topics such as:
- UK self reliance in energy production (likely funder: Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund);
- new energy technology relating to supplying clean and affordable energy (likely funder: Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund);
- energy storage (likely funder: EPSRC; outcomes from Balancing Capability exercise);
- biological systems to generate fuel (likely funder: BBSRC; as detailed in RCUK Strategy 2016 - 2020);
- off-grid and low-carbon energy research to increase access, resilience and wealth-creation in developing nations (likely funder: EPSRC GCRF call).
3. To support York researchers through a Pump Priming scheme (£300 - 3000) which would:
- generate new, novel project ideas;
- fund the organisation of meetings;
- permit the building of external partnerships;
- other relevant activities (e.g., Summer Studentships, conference support etc).
