Energy Essentials Update - 2017
Fri 9 December 2016, 10:00 – 12:30 GMT
These very popular annual energy update sessions are designed to help participants better engage with their users and clients in supporting them to manage their energy use at a critical time of year. They are ideal for anyone wanting to learn more about cold homes, fuel poverty, its causes and the links with physical and mental wellbeing. The training also provides current and recent information on energy saving measures, supplier programmes, switching schemes, discounts and other market trends.
As well as the latest on smart meters, the session covers traditional credit and pre-payment meters, and how to interpret energy bills. There are tips on how to make best use of heating controls and appliances around the home, and measures that will minimise condensation and prevent the formation of mould. For those looking to help others save money, we discuss the practicalities of comparing suppliers, tariffs and service provision, ultimately identifying the best deal for a customer and their circumstances.
By the end of the session, participants will be able to offer meaningful and effective energy advice, whilst also having a clear understanding of the help available, and when and where to refer for further support.
