Helge Lund (MBA 91), former CEO of BG Group plc, Statoil and Aker Kvaerner, has held leadership roles in the energy industry for nearly thirty years. Most recently he was CEO of BG Group plc, a British multinational oil and gas company, where he presided over its sale to Royal Dutch Shell in April 2015 for £47bn, creating by a considerable margin the largest company in the FTSE 100. Previously, Helge spent a decade as CEO of Statoil where he led the merger with the oil and gas division of Norsk Hydro in 2007, forming a business with revenue in 2015 equivalent to £46bn.

From 2011 to 2014, he served on the board of directors for Nokia, and on the board of directors for Novo Nordisk from 2014 to 2015. Since 2016, he has been a Director of Schlumberger, the world’s largest oilfield services company.
