Event Details

Recently we learned around one third of the Network don’t monitor energy, a necessary first step in reducing your energy consumption. When it comes to energy monitoring and reporting Sarah (RSPB) and Jo (Oxfam) have been there, done it and got the matching t-shirts (and scars!) to prove it. They have offered to pass on their pearls of wisdom and help others who are thinking about or near the beginning of their own energy reporting and monitoring journeys.

This half day workshop will explore different approaches for monitoring energy consumption, going through the processes, sharing the do’s and more importantly, the don’ts. This will be a great opportunity for swapping advice and learning from others who have ‘been there’.

 The event will include:

-     Why monitoring energy is so important, the different options available and the associated challenges and opportunities.

-     Case studies from RSPB and Oxfam on how they tackled energy monitoring and the key lessons learnt.

-     A surgery, answering any questions that you might have and an opportunity to find out what others are doing. Bring along your questions/laptop/software.

The event is for:

Members of Fit for the Future Network from across the UK. Numbers for these events will be kept to a minimum to allow enough time for the surgery, but there will be more dates throughout the year at different locations.

Specifically for beginners and intermediates, the workshop can be used as a starting point for those organisations who are just beginning to monitor their energy, or as a refresher for those who have monitored before. There will be an advanced workshop later on in the year.

NB – attendees only need to book on to one of the workshops

Travel:

Please let us know if you are travelling by train as we will arrange for a RSPB minibus to pick you up from the station.

Cancellation policy:

This event is free however there will be a cancellation fee of £75 for those that cancel within ten days of booking. This is so that others who may be on the waiting list have the opportunity to attend.

A bit about Sarah Alsbury and Jo Gosling:

She is also currently heavily involved in ensuring that the RSPB complies with the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS).

As the Environmental Manager for Oxfam GB Johanna Gosling manages Oxfam’s internal environmental sustainability programme focusing on operational activities. She also works across Oxfam's confederation to develop environmental standards and leads environmental accountability reporting for 17 affiliates.
