Frequently asked questions

What age range is this suitable for?

The session is designed for children aged 5–16 and their parents or guardians. Older siblings are welcome to join if they enjoy mindful movement!

Do I need any previous Tai Chi experience?

Not at all! This is a beginner friendly session with simple, playful steps that everyone can follow, no experience required.

What should we wear?

Wear something comfortable that allows you to move freely. Barefoot or socks are fine, no special footwear needed.

Do we need any equipment?

No equipment is needed, just a bit of space to move. A yoga mat is optional if you'd like extra comfort.

Will the session be recorded?

No, the session will not be recorded to protect your family’s privacy. You are welcome to keep your camera off, but we encourage cameras on so we can offer gentle movement guidance if needed.

Can more than one child or adult join from the same household?

Absolutely! This is a family friendly session, just make sure you have enough space for everyone to move safely.

What if my child loses focus or gets bored?

That’s completely okay. Children engage in different ways. You're welcome to take breaks and rejoin as needed. We keep things light, fun, and stress free.

Is adult supervision required?

Yes. All children must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult for the entire session. This is both for safety and to support a shared, mindful experience.

What are your safeguarding guidelines?

We take safeguarding seriously. Parents or guardians must be present on screen at all times, and we kindly ask all participants to maintain a respectful, family friendly environment. The session is live but not recorded, and no screenshots or photos will be taken.

What if someone has an injury or medical condition?

Please let us know in advance if you or your child have any injuries or medical conditions that may affect participation. All movements can be adapted, and you're encouraged to move at your own pace. Always consult your doctor if unsure.

Will there be a trained instructor present?

Yes. The session is led by an experienced Tai Chi facilitator familiar with family learning environments. If anything feels uncomfortable, you're welcome to pause or modify movements.

Is this session safe for children?

Yes. The movements are slow, gentle, and carefully designed for children and adults to enjoy together. However, as with all physical activity, please ensure your child only participates within their comfort and ability level. You know your child.
