Engage! - Autumn/ Winter 2025 - Why Tackling Health Inequalities Matters.

Addressing health inequalities is a vital part of our work and why it’s at the heart of the next upcoming Engage Event.

Health inequalities are not just statistics—they reflect real differences in people’s lives. They show up in who gets access to care, who feels heard, and who has the opportunity to live a healthy life. These gaps are shaped by factors like income, housing, education, ethnicity, disability, gender and geography—and they’re often avoidable.

By tackling health inequalities, we’re not only improving individual outcomes—we’re strengthening communities, reducing pressure on services, and creating a fairer, more equitable society.

This year’s Engage Event is about bringing together people and organisations who are already making a difference, and those who want to be part of the change. Whether it’s through sharing good practice, highlighting local challenges, or sparking new collaborations, we want to create a space where ideas can grow and action can follow.

If you or your organisation are working on health equity - or want to be - please consider joining us. Together, we can build a more inclusive and healthier Cambridge.

Tell me more about Engage

Engage is a meetup style conference for organisations working in Cambridge and the surrounding areas. It follows a format of exploring a topic, finding out about exisiting local good practice, offers a marketplace of folk working on the theme and a call to action session.

In order to keep costs down, the conference is run on a DIY basis. Organisations come together to share the platform, often volunteering behind the scenes, and we ask all attendees to contribute to the DIY snack bar - bring snacks and refreshments to share with others.

Further details of the spreakers and marketplace hosts will appear here shortly - so do keep checking back to this page over the next few weeks.
