About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

This session will help you combine:

  • gathering evidence of need and impact
  • building community support
  • preparing evidence for funding applications

These tasks are inter-dependent, allowing you to build a clear picture of your community, how your work affects them, and enhance your ability to secure funding.

Fundamentally, most grant funders want to know what you’ll do and why, the difference you’ll make and how you’ll measure it. This session will provide top tips to answer those questions as well as avoiding duplication of effort, by increasing the ways in which you use this information.

In addition, we often confuse outputs with outcomes but if our outcomes are not clear, how can we measure them effectively? How do we reassure funders that we’re not duplicating resources? And how can we demonstrate community connections and competency in limited space on grant application forms?

This session will help you answer these questions, distinguish between outputs, outcomes, and impact, and demonstrate community connections and competency. It includes simple visual aids and interactive exercises. We ask participants to complete an evaluation survey before and after the session, to help us measure learning outcomes.
