Are you finding it hard to get work experience in a Imaging Department? Join us at Glenfield Hospital for a morning filled with hands on opportunities in a safe enviroment, looking at the equipment, gaining knowledge about the role of the radiographer. This event is perfect for those seeking an alternative path to facilitate your carreer pathway in applying to university or seeking an alternative pathway. Is this free?

Yes, the only thing you will need to pay for is your transportations and parking.

Can I bring a parent or guardian?

Yes but please only bring one.

Do I need a ticket for my parent or guardian?

No. We have a maximum capacity and we will not be counting parents or guardian in this. If we have our maximum capacity of students, then parents and guardians maybe asked to wait whilst the groups tours are undertaken.

Can I bring my own drink and a snack?

Yes but no nuts. There will be a comfort break in the morning.

What if I arrive late?

Anything that you have missed will not be recapped and it maybe difficult to accompany the individual tours. So please try and arrive on time and no later than 10mins after the start time.

Is there free parking on site

No. The Glenfield has ANPR cameras installed int their patient car park which use a card or phone payment

How will the day look

Please look at the "Agenda"to see how the event will be split up. We try and keep to times, but due to groups tours and amount of questioned asked these are fluid. If you need to finish at a certain time. Please speak to the Practice Educator running the day to make them aware.

The Event will start with an introduction to Radiography; Why Diagnostic, the different ways to become a Radiographer and after qualification the many opportunities open to a Radiographer to develop your future career.

A department tour to see the specialist areas. The department will be in use with patients so some areas may be off limit.

Meet the staff who work within the imaging department and ask questions.
