Engaging audiences online- a refresher
Monday, 15 February 2016 from 10:30 to 16:30 (GMT)
Lots of museums are keen to use online tools to engage with their audiences, but where to start?
This refresher session will offer museum staff and volunteers a crash course in some of the most popular tools used to engage audiences online. Putting ourselves in the shoes of our museum users, we’ll consider the importance of a museum’s ‘web presence’ and explore some of the best (and free!) online tools which currently exist to help organisations connect with their visitors.
From websites to social media, to email newsletters and blogs, delegates will leave with a clearer idea of what to prioritise and the confidence to introduce new online engagement tools into their organisations.
Who should attend?
Museum staff and volunteers who are aware of online and digital tools, but would like strategic advice on how to prioritise their use.
What will you learn?
- How to perform an online health check for your organisation
- A clearer understanding of the free audience engagement tools available for small to medium sized organisations
- Strategic advice on how to prioritise which tools or platforms to use
NB: This session does not cover in gallery interactives or the digitisation of collections.
Please bring along a small laptop, smartphone or tablet if you have one.
We will be able to supply a few for sharing, but the more the merrier!
