Engaging Libraries is aimed at enabling public libraries to experiment and pilot creative and imaginative public engagement projects on health and wellbeing. The programme is open to public libraries across the UK and Ireland.
Potential applicants are invited to sign up for one of our workshops for applicants, taking place in May.
This Eventbrite page is for the workshops in London. We are also running a workshop in Dunfermline, Scotland - you can sign up for the Scotland event here.
What to expect from the workshop
These free workshops will build understanding of the Engaging Libraries programme, what we mean by “public engagement” and what we are looking for in applications. They will also support idea generation and development, and consider how collaboration with external people and organisations might enhance your project idea and delivery.
The workshops are designed to be experiential with both interactive group sessions and the opportunity to chat with experts one-to-one.
Attendees will have access to expertise from professionals with experience in libraries, health and wellbeing, and public engagement including representatives from Wellcome Trust and Carnegie UK Trust.
Potential applicants at any stage of idea development and planning are welcome to attend.
Applying to the programme
Our application pack will be published on 2 May when applications open. The pack will contain everything you need to apply. Those who cannot attend a workshop are still very welcome to apply to the programme, and we are happy to discuss any queries that you have by phone or email (please refer to the contact details below).
Travel expenses of up to £100 per potential applicant are available to a limited number of applicants from Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
For more information please contact Georgina Bowyer, Projects Officer at Carnegie UK Trust on 01383 721445 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
