About this event
A taster session providing hints, tips and resources to support direct work with children and young people.
Join us for a fun filled hour where we will do a deep dive into the magic of therapeutic interventions. You will have the chance to explore a variety of resources designed to spark joy and connection in your work with children and young people.
With hands on activities, interactive tools and games and guidance around how to use them you will leave feeling inspired and more confident in using direct tools with children and young people.
About the Trainers:
Mandy - is a practising Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner and qualified social worker who has worked in various teams supporting children and their families over the past 20 years, including generic Children and Families Social Work Teams and a Permanence Team. Mandy has a keen interest in supporting Care Experienced Children and has recently completed the Diploma in Therapeutic Life Story Work which has further enhanced her knowledge and skills.
In addition to this Mandy has undertaken additional training in DDP Level 1, Developmental Trauma and utilises these in her day-to-day practice with the view to sessions being meaningful but also fun and creative.
Lynn – Has worked with Children and Young people for over thirty years as a qualified social worker, in Youth Services Teams, as a Children's Rights Officer, working with serious and persistent Youth Offenders, working in Adoption Teams and as a Manager for a Children’s Wellbeing Team. Lynn supported young people in Ukraine to move from orphanages into small group homes, she worked in a Strength based therapeutic community in New Zealand and is a qualified NLP and Coaching Mentor. Lynn is part of various Trauma workgroups and is currently part of a Scottish Government Advisory Group exploring the National Trauma training Program. Lynn is a founder of GCBN now known as Archie Bereavement Services and has supported children with bereavement in a voluntary capacity for many years. Lynn is passionate about supporting children and young people who are care experienced and ensuring that every child has the support to build capacity to achieve and build the best outcome into their adult years.
Lynn has recently completed the Certificate of Therapeutic Mentoring, enabling traumatised children and families to recover from trauma with Betsy de Thierry.
