Description

Please note: this event is open only to relevant academic, research and professional support staff at QUB. Please register using a QUB email address. Do you feel that your research might be of interest to UK, English or Scottish national museums, libraries and heritage bodies? Can you see the potential for collaborative research involving such institutions, or for a doctoral research which could be co-supervised by such an institution?

This event provides a unique opportunity for you to hear from senior representatives from no less than nine national UK, English and Scottish museums, libraries and heritage bodies. They’re all members of the Independent Research Organisations Consortium. They’re keen to find out more about research at Queen’s which is relevant to their own collections, and to share their experience of collaborating with higher education institutions on research projects and on collaborative doctoral studentships.

The individuals and institutions currently confirmed to attend this event are as follows:

  • Dr JD Hill, Head of Research, British Museum & founding member of IRO Consortium
  • Joe Edwards, Head of UK Partnerships, British Museum
  • Caroline Campbell, Head of Curatorial Department, National Gallery
  • Xerxes Mazda, Deputy Director, National Museums of Scotland
  • Pip Wilcock, Head of Research, The National Archives
  • Ailsa Roberts, Research Support Manager, National Galleries of Scotland
  • Anthony Musson, Historic Royal Palaces
  • John Cattell, National Head of Research, Historic England
  • Dr Dominique Bouchard, Head of Learning and Interpretation, English Heritage
  • Dr Annie Tindley, Director, Northern Bridge Doctoral Training Partnership
  • Professor Crawford Gribben, Director, Northern Bridge Doctoral Training Partnership

The key focus of this event will be two panel discussions, each of which will provide plenty of opportunity for the audience to ask questions. There will be a tea/coffee break during the seminar.

All those attending this seminar are also invited to a buffet lunch in the Great Hall – but please sign up separately via Eventbrite for that event.
