Event description

Description

This one-day event, held at the Engine Shed in Stirling, will bring together cultural heritage professionals and researchers from across Scotland for a programme of talks, structured conversations, showcases and networking on the topic of ‘engaging with digital cultural heritage’.

Our aim for the day is to establish a shared research and development agenda that supports digital cultural heritage engagement, learning, and interpretation in Scotland, and to identify the key actions and collaborations we need for the coming years. Along with exploring existing work and research, we will investigate the economic and social benefits of engagement with digital cultural heritage, how our processes of digitisation and documentation influence what kinds of engagements are possible, and what impact democratising digitisation has on learning and engagement.

Jointly organised by Historic Environment Scotland, the Digital Cultural Heritage Research Network at the University of Edinburgh, and Information Studies together with the Hunterian Museum at the University of Glasgow, the day will provide new connections, practical insights, and a chance to be involved in shaping a Scottish agenda for shared inquiry in this crucial area.
