Event description

Description

What do schools really need and want? If you are keen to build on your experience of working with young people and would like to know how to develop a workshop or activity which links to your research and resonates with this audience, this workshop will offer valuable insight and advice. Learning expert Ed Drewitt draws upon his 14 years' experience to reveal what works in schools, providing practical advice and ideas for developing activities. The session will also cover school jargon (such as key stages), the curriculum, learning outcomes, how to evaluate and measure the impact of your activity plus tops tips from teachers. The programme will also feature schools engagement case studies delivered by colleagues representing the arts, sciences and social sciences.

This training opportunity is offered through the School-University Partnership Initiative (SUPI) and is open to research students and staff from any discipline who want to build upon existing experience of working with schools.

Trainer biography: Ed Drewitt works across the university delivering training and has been working with schools for over 14 years. He currently teaches part time in the School of Biological Sciences. Previously he has worked at Bristol Museum and on the university’s Bristol Dinosaur Project.
