August H. Nimtz is professor of political science & African American & African studies at the University of Minnesota. He is the author of Marx &Engels: Their Contribution to the Democratic Breakthrough ; The Ballot, the Streets—or Both: From Marx & Engels to Lenin &the October Revolution; Marx, Tocqueville, and Race in America: The 'Absolute Democracy' or 'Defiled Republic' & Marxism vs. Liberalism, plus a number of related articles in edited volumes & journals.
