Engineered Deconstruction – The Future of Demolition
Overview
In this webinar Colemans CEO, Mark Coleman and Colemans Assistant Project Manager and CIOB Sustainability Ambassador, Titus Akpan, will guide you through a different way of thinking about “demolition”.
The session will challenge traditional perceptions of demolition and explore how Colemans are taking a leading role in evolving the process. While demolition focuses on maximising recycling and material recovery, engineered deconstruction goes further in prioritising the repurposing and reuse of materials in their existing form wherever possible. It’s a more considered process, focused on making better use of what’s already there, dramatically reducing waste, cutting embodied carbon, and helping clients meet their sustainability goals.
You will discover:
• What engineered deconstruction truly means, and how the approach differs from traditional demolition methods.
• Concrete case studies from complex projects where Colemans have delivered real value and maximised material recovery.
• The significant environmental, safety, and financial upside; less waste, lower carbon, and maximised reuse of materials.
• How considering deconstruction early in the design and planning phases unlocks commercial and sustainability outcomes.
• The common challenges faced on site and how Colemans teams effectively overcome them.
• How clients are successfully using this modern approach to hit their carbon reduction, materials reuse, and ESG targets.
