Event description
Back by popular demand! The Crystal Palace Museum presents the first installment of an illustrated talk on the engineering behind the Palace

About this Event

Back again is an opportunity to be taken step by step through the construction of the Crystal Palace both 1851 and 1854. We follow the methods used in the production of the materials and the techniques used to raise the structure of this unique glass and iron building and understand the major design differences between the two Crystal Palaces and the tragic consequences encountered at the height of construction.

Presented by Ken Kiss Museum Curator , Historian and Author.

The talk starts at 19:30 on Tuesday 14th January 2020, doors open 19:00. The talk to last approximately 45 minutes followed by a Q&A. Visitors will be welcomed to browse the Museum after the talk and refreshments will be provided. When attending this event, please use the Anerley Road entrance to the Museum as the park will be closed.
