Event description
Tim Hetherington will discuss the biosphere crisis, looking at how this impacts structural engineers working in the built environment.

About this Event

This lecture, the latest in the Technical Lecture Series, will contain a brief summary of where we are and how we got here in terms of climate, pollution, and use of resources.

Tim will then discuss possible likely scenarios for the future by looking at the limits on making the built world ‘resilient’, how we can recycle, reduce, and reuse materials, while factoring in cost and timeframe implications. He will then look are the effects of these in changes of load, form, and place.
