Event description

Description

This workshop is suitable for children aged 7 to 14. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

There's been a pit disaster, and it's up to you to use your mechanical know-how to rescue the miners trapped in the shaft! Come along to test some basic engineering principles using recyclable materials, learn about some of the real-life ingenuity needed in emergency cases, and use your creativity and problem-solving skills to construct a rescue winch -- but remember, time is of the essence! Learn how the engineers do it, and discover how you too just might be an engineer.

Please try to bring some old newspaper or recycled cardboard and paper; all resources will be provided but as we have a limited stock, we would welcome any contribution you could make. The more materials, the more fun!
