About this event

Engineering & Safeguarding Synthetic Life

A major international conference, Engineering and Safeguarding Synthetic Life 2025, will take place in Manchester on 17–18 September. This event is open to all and will bring together scientists, engineers, ethicists, policymakers, and other stakeholders to explore the challenges and opportunities of building and regulating synthetic life. The program will feature keynote talks and interdisciplinary panels, creating space for discussion around both technical advances and the societal responsibilities that come with them.

Registration is open to anyone interested in participating.

Additionally, delegates registered for the main conference will have the option to register for the Japan-UK Engineering Biology meeting on 19 September, aimed at strengthening international research ties.
