Description

The beginning of a new project year is an excellent time to take stock and share what is happening in English and maths learning generally and with unions.

English and maths learning is one of the priority areas for union learning and unions have a great track record in engaging and supporting learners.

The draft outline programme for the event is:

  • 10:00 - Registration with coffee and tea
  • 10:30 - Welcome and introductions – Kirsi Kekki, unionlearn
  • 10:35 - The current state of functional skills reform and union role in the process – to be confirmed
  • 11:25 - Framework for employers on how to support employees with ESOL needs – Jenny Roden and James Cupper, NATECLA
  • 12:00 - Break
