Hello, I'm Jo and I'm a certified English Teacher organising free English lesson every Sunday. This week, I'd like to invite you to learn about causative verbs (i.e. to have something done vs to get something done) and how to use them in everyday English.
This one and a half hour session is tailored for upper intermediate learners but anyone is welcome to join if improving your conversational English is your goal.
There are limited places for this lesson so make sure to book early!
To attend the lesson, you will receive a meeting link the day before you class starts, so please keep an eye on your email inbox.
Frequently asked questions
The classes are designed to be interactive and learner-centred. The students get plenty of talking time during the 1 hour session, with regular opportunities to practice their English in a friendly and supportive environment.
The classes are purposely kept small and with a limited number of learners. This is in order to give each student the opportunity to ask questions and be an active participant during the lesson.
I encourage my students to not be afraid to make mistakes; it is part of their learning journey and each mistake is an opportunity for learning and improvement.
A teacher also never stops learning and improving. These free classes allow me to continually develop and improve my teaching in a friendly and supportive environment. Students can "pay" me by giving me valuable feedback and helping me become the best teacher I can be.
I tailor my content to help pre-intermediate and upper-intermediate students improve their English. Ideally, learners' English ranges between A2-B2 levels but ultimately, anyone who is keen to build on their existing English skills is welcome to join my class.
I use Google Meet which works in the same way as a Zoom link. Learners will get an email the day before the class containing the Google Meet link. Attendees then click on the link and wait to be allowed into the meeting. You do not have to have a Gmail account to be able to join the class.
I'll aim to organise classes every Sunday afternoon, between 5-6 pm. During busier times, the classes will take place twice a month. Students are welcome to follow my Eventbrite page to see when the next class will take place.
