The termly Primary English Subject Leader Training session.
The termly English Subject Leader session is one of the most popular courses in the Primary English professional development programme. The sessions aim to bring delegates up-to-date knowledge of developments in Primary English teaching. Recent sessions have included scrutiny of the Ofsted Ready to Read Report and its implications for English Subject Leadership; the role of vocabulary in the 2014 National Curriculum; and approaches to assessment in a world without levels.
In order to bring the best training opportunities to English subject leaders, we've updated the structure of the sessions for 2016/17. This year there is a choice of half or full-day sessions. The morning sessions will continue with our tried and tested formula of leadership matters, curriculum development and English subject updates whilst the afternoon sessions including in-depth training with nationally recognised experts Stephen Anwyll, Jean Gross and our own Rachel Clarke.
The half-day session includes light refreshments, high-quality handouts and access to electronic resources via the Primary English Dropbox. The full-day session includes all of the above plus a buffet lunch and the opportunity to participate in the longer in-depth sessions in the afternoon.
