The termly Primary English Subject Leader Training session.
The termly English Subject Leader session is one of the most popular courses in the Primary English professional development programme. The session aim to bring delegates up-to-date knowledge of developments in Primary English teaching. Recent sessions have included scrutiny of the Ofsted Ready to Read Report and its implications for English Subject Leadership; the role of vocabulary in the 2014 National Curriculum; and approaches to assessment in a world without levels.
In order to bring the best training opportunities to English subject leaders, we've updated the structure of the sessions for 2017. This term there is a choice of half or full-day sessions. The morning session continues with our tried and tested formula of leadership matters, curriculum development and English subject updates whilst the afternoon session including in-depth training with nationally recognised assessment expert Stephen Anwyll.
The half-day session includes light refreshments, high-quality handouts and access to electronic resources via the Primary English Dropbox. The full-day session includes all of the above plus a hot lunch and the opportunity to participate in the longer in-depth session in the afternoon.
