Enhancing engagement, feedback and performance: the SGC4L project
Event Information
Description
Student-Generated Content for Learning (SGC4L): Enhancing Engagement, Feedback and Performance
This project will offer a webinar showcasing the PeerWise online environment, to illustrate to participants how it can be used by students to generate their own original assessment content in the form of multiple choice questions. We will discuss our recent experiences using PeerWise to support teaching on our courses at the University of Edinburgh and share findings from the JISC-funded Assessment and Feedback strand B project “Student Generated Content for Learning (SGC4L)”.
By far the best way to appreciate the potential of the PeerWise system is to use it oneself. For this reason, the webinar will include an interactive session offering participants the opportunity get first hand experience of interacting with others via a PeerWise course area that we will set up for the purposes of the session. This will be prefaced by an initial presentation outlining what PeerWise is and how to access the course space. We will conclude the webinar with a presentation and discussion of how the system is being embedded within courses at our own institution and the findings of the SGC4L project.
Delegate access requirements
PeerWise is hosted by the University of Auckland (http://peerwise.cs.auckland.ac.nz). Participants will be provided with the information needed to access PeerWise during the webinar.
