The Helen Hamlyn Centre for Pedagogy (HHCP), in collaboration with the Department of Learning and Leadership (DLL) and the Primary Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) team at the Institute of Education (IOE) of the University College London (UCL), is excited to announce a day dedicated to fostering collaboration between teachers and IOE staff. This conference will feature keynote talks and a variety of presentations aimed at exploring shared research interests, ultimately enhancing teaching through evidence-based discussions.

This physical event is a superb opportunity for professional development and networking.

Please note that attendance at this conference is limited to IOE/UCL colleagues and staff members from our affiliated partnership schools.

The Helen Hamlyn Centre for Pedagogy (HHCP) was established in 2018 to extend the long-established work of UCL’s Faculty of Education and Society (IOE) and the Helen Hamlyn Trust in primary and early years education. The centre aims to enable children to realise their full potential through optimal teaching and learning. Our work includes critical analyses of curriculum, pedagogy and assessment policies in national curricula. We collaborate with a variety of partners, including professionals, parents and children, to create a lasting legacy in the field of primary and early years pedagogy.

About IOE’s Primary Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)

UCL works in partnership with around 300 primary schools to enable Primary PGCE students to develop the knowledge and skills they need to become a primary teacher. A wide range of students are welcomed each year to the Primary PGCE course and traditionally under-represented groups are particularly encouraged to apply. Cohorts of the Primary PGCE course are typically very diverse, reflecting school communities across London.
