Enlightenment Edinburgh: A guide

Edinburgh in the 18th century was a city which both profoundly shaped and was shaped by the Enlightenment. Sheila Szatkowski has traced this process of change in a delightful and well-researched account of the city's people, places, clubs and conversations. Szatkowski examines how topography and cultural achievement came together to create the great Enlightenment city we know today. The talk features a cast of fascinating historical figures who all, at one time, called Edinburgh home.
