Summary:

The evolving NHS landscape means that digital, data and technology are an ever-increasing part of our professional lives. It promises great possibilities for workforce development, support and innovation. But it also poses great risks in terms of exacerbating health inequalities and existing equity, diversity and inclusion challenges for staff and patients if it is done without due consideration. This workshop helps participants to explore this and understand practical steps they can take to ensure equity in digital, data and technology through their roles and efforts.

Aim:

  • Participants will learn what is meant by ‘Equity' in digital, data and technology.
  • Participants will consider why it is important in the current NHS context.
  • Participants will explore steps that are needed to ensure equity in HR and OD practice.
  • Participants will be supported to consider their own HR and OD practices and how they can apply examples of good practice to ensure equity through digital, data and technology.

This workshop is for any HR or OD professional who is interested in hearing about this area of high importance for health and care practice and interested to consider how to modernize their own practices to be more ready to face the challenges of now as well as for the future in more innovative and collaborative ways for success.
