Description

Participants of the Enterprise Challenge have been developing their business ideas for 7 weeks, and they will be presenting their final pitches to our panel of judges, who will be scoring the viability of the businesses and offer feedback and cash prizes to the participants and winners.

If you're interested in getting an insight into how future entrepreneurs pitch their businesses to secure future investment, or even if you are amongst the supporters of the participants, you're invited to attend the pitches! The final is be open to students, staff and the general public to attend and watch the teams' pitches.


Our panel of judges consists of:

David McGrory - Partner in the Dentons Corporate Team. David is a partner in the Maclay Murray & Spens Corporate Department who splits his time between Aberdeen and Edinburgh offices. David has specific expertise in Private Equity, Venture Capital, MBOs/MBIs, M&A, Cross-Border Transactions, Early Stage and Growth Companies, Oil & Gas Services Companies, Tech Companies, Life Sciences and Aerospace Companies.

David Romilly – Director at Waracle. David is Business Development Director for Waracle, one of the UK’s top mobile app development agencies with a growing specialism in mHealth. Headquartered in Dundee, Waracle started in 2008 and have a client-base spanning the UK, Europe and the US. With 8 years experience in the mobile sector, David has underpinned Waracle’s growth by securing prestigious app development contracts with the likes of Imperial College London, Hoffman La Roche, Jones Lang LaSalle, The Ryder Cup, H&M and the NHS.

Caryn Gibson – Business Advisor at ElevatorUK. Born and Bred in Dundee, Caryn previously delivered Business Gateway assistance to business owners in the Tayside region building a great network. Caryn now commutes to Aberdeen after joining the Business Gateway Aberdeen City and Shire Team in 2014, she joined the Start-Up Growth Team in 2016. Caryn’s strengths lie in customer relationships and she loves to help people.Her background is in Organisational Development/Lean Service, Recruitment, and Economic Development.

Alan Garratt - Proprietor at AGARR. Alan is a qualified mechanical and production engineer, has held a number of positions at operational and senior management level in a variety of industries, both in the UK and internationally. He offers support, mentoring and advice on, Business, Business Development, Growth, Strategy, innovation evaluation, development, commercialization, Product Development, Intellectual Property (IP) in a confidential independent and impartial manner.
