Enterprise M3 Travel Plan Network meeting
Event Information
Description
You are warmly invited to the first meeting of the Enterprise M3 Travel Plan Network, a new forum aiming to encourage more sustainable and active travel for those working in the region, an initiative from My Journey Hampshire.
The meeting will be on Wednesday 9th December, 9.30am-11.30am, at the TAG Farnborough airport, with lifts offered from the station for anyone arriving by train. Fuller directions and a map will be sent a few days beforehand.
We hope the meeting will provide a stimulating couple of hours full of sharing ideas and good practice on how to encourage staff from workplaces in the region to travel more sustainably.
The aim is to hold two meetings over the next three months, with the help of some initial funding from Hampshire County Council which will allow Sustrans to organise the meetings and coordinate the network. We very much hope that the network will then grow and continue to run beyond this time.
Please let me know if you are able to attend - we look forward to seeing you there.
With best wishes
Nick Brelsford and Sue Nottingham
Enterprise M3 Travel Plan Network Coordinators

What is a Travel Plan Network?
A Travel Plan Network (TPN) is a group of organisations working together to manage and reduce their car use, and increase the sustainable and active travel of their employees. They may be run by Local Authorities, Chambers of Commerce, companies, groups of companies or by others such as charities focusing on sustainable travel. Hampshire County Council has provided some funding to Sustrans to allow the organisation of two meetings, to be held in December 2015 and February/March 2016, with the aim of establishing a network for the Enterprise M3 area of Hampshire. Other networks are already established, or in the process of being established, for Southampton, Eastleigh & Chandler's Ford, East Hampshire and the New Forest. Elsewhere in the UK there are a variety of networks, such as Travel for Cambridgeshire (http://www.tfw.org.uk/), the West Yorkshire Travel Plan Network (http://www.wytravelplan.com/), and the i-Travel York network (http://www.itravelyork.info/about/ity-programme).
The role of a TPN is to exchange information, ideas and good practice, to encourage and support its members to promote good travel planning, and to generate a collective bargaining force, through working together, which will encourage the provision of improved active/sustainable travel services.
