Event description

Description

Public Interest Environmental Law UK 12th Annual Conference is organised around the theme of environmental litigation using three panels to analyze the hot question of today: Has the Green Revolution reached the Courts?

The Conference program is the following:
Panel 1: Environmental Rights and Justice
Panel 2: Liability of Multinational Corporations
Panel 3: Government Accountability for Emissions Reduction

In the current context strategic litigation in environmental issues is seen as one of the most creative ways for lawyers and activists to bring environmental issues into the public eye. Around the globe, there is a rise of creative interpretation by judiciary and expansion of the legal rules to allow more and more of these issues to be addressed through courts.

Public Interest Litigation is seen as a powerful tool to bring regulators' attention to the current issues. This conference aims to address these implications and strategies used by lawyers and courts in addressing the complex issues of environmental damage and climate change.
