Join Charlotte for an epilepsy awareness course split over 3 sessions to increase your knowledge and confidence.

About this Event

Learn the key principles of epilepsy and how to support individuals during a seizure

Do you support individuals with epilepsy whether in an education, health or care setting or work as a private carer? Or maybe you are about to support an individual with epilepsy with no experience? Or you're simply looking to learn more about epilepsy.

If you are currently a 0-5 out of 10 in your knowledge and/or confidence...

We may be the right match for you. We' re holding an Epilepsy Awareness virtual training course to learn how to respond during a seizure and more.

Our course is comprehensive and you'll have opportunities to engage with other learners and the trainer on a live sessions lasting approx 3 hours.

Key information:

3 x 1 hour* sessions

Monday 15th February 2021 - 5pm-6pm

Tuesday 16th February 2021 - 5pm-6pm

Wednesday 17th February 2021 - 5pm-6pm

*Timings are depending on size of group and so could be just under or over 3 hours in total.

On our Epilepsy Awareness course you will learn:

  • What is epilepsy?
  • What causes epilepsy?
  • What is diagnosis process including differential diagnosis?
  • Types of seizures
  • Treatment options
  • First aid
  • Status epilepticus
  • Care planning and recording mechanisms
  • Risk assessment
  • SUDEP
  • Interactive case discussions
  • Sources of support and information

You will be emailed a certificate of attendance/completion once you have completed the course and passed the virtual assessment shortly after completion.
