EPSRC AgriFoRwArdS CDT Second Annual Conference

1-2 JULY 2021

The University of East Anglia is delighted to be hosting the second annual AgriFoRwArdS CDT Conference in July 2021. This year the conference will again take place virtually (via Zoom) and will be loosely themed around robotic vision in the agri-food sector, reflecting UEA’s globally recognised research strengths in graphics and computer vision.

The conference will provide an opportunity to participate in discussions with leading academics and industry representatives working at the cutting edge in the field, as well as from some of the future leaders in Agri-food robotics: the first and second cohorts of AgriFoRwArdS postgraduate researchers.

Registrations will continue to be accepted until 22 June 2021.

Delegates will be sent an AgriFoRwArdS Conference Gift Box (please note there are a limited number of these). You will be asked to provide your address during registration stage. Unfortunately, if you reside overseas we will are unable to send a conference gift box.”

CONFIRMED KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

Bob Fisher

Prof Robert Fisher has been an academic in the School of Informatics (originally in the former Department of Artificial Intelligence) at University of Edinburgh since 1984 and a full Professor since 2003. He received his PhD from University of Edinburgh (1987), investigating computer vision in the former Department of Artificial Intelligence.

Bob’s talk is titled: “The TrimBot2020 gardening robot and other agricultural robot issues”

Jeff Keiser

Jeff Keiser, Lead Product Manager, Agribusiness & Geospatial Analytics, IBM Cloud and Cognitive Software is recognized as an industry leader in digital farming, crop technology, and data and analytics across his more than 30 years of experience in global agribusiness. He designs and helps IBM's farm & agribusiness clients overcome challenges in precision farm data management and analysis through innovation and delivery of advanced environment analytics that solve business challenges by leveraging machine-collected and geospatial data and creating new business intelligence for crop management insights.

Jeff’s talk is titled: "30+ Years of AgriTech...What have we learned? ... and, How do we apply that for the Future?"

Tony Pridmore

Tony Pridmore is Professor of Computer Science at the University of Nottingham, where he leads the Computer Vision Laboratory. He holds a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Warwick and a PhD in Computer Vision from the University of Sheffield. Before returning to Computer Science in 1999 he held academic posts in both Information and Manufacturing Engineering.

Tony’s talk is titled: “Plant Phenotyping: Getting to the root of the problem”
