Why don’t more people challenge equal pay issues at work? What exactly are your rights? How can you negotiate your salary? What is ‘the flinch’?

Join us on Monday, 11th November to find the answers to these questions and many more at an evening of practical advice on how to make sure you’re being paid what you’re worth at work.

We will have a presentation on the practicalities of challenging equal pay concerns and get advice on how to negotiate your salary.

About the speakers

Lara Kennedy

Lara is a solicitor specialising in high profile equal pay and discrimination claims at Leigh Day. She is currently assisting with a large multi-party equal pay claim for store workers at Tesco. Leigh Day currently represents over 41,000 store workers against the UK’s leading supermarkets: Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Co-op. Lara previously worked on the Birmingham City Council equal pay claim which went to the Supreme Court in a landmark judgment. Lara also has experience of advising on severance packages, maternity and pregnancy discrimination, disability discrimination, race discrimination, sexual harassment and employment status claims.

Victoria Fitzpatrick

Victoria is an active member of the Fawcett East London and always looking for opportunities to help her fellow feminists. Having learned the art of negotiation from her mother, she refined those skills in city law firms and then used it against them. She’ll show you how to put your best tool forward in pay discussions and get what you want.
