Who is it for?
Our EDI in Schools course is suitable for anyone working in a school or college who has a passion for promoting equality, tackling discrimination and fostering positive relations. It is suitable for school leaders, teachers, teaching assistants and support staff.
What will delegates get out of the course?
You will come away with the skills, knowledge and drive to proactively eliminate barriers/ discrimination/ bias and role model inclusive practice in your school or college.
With a clearer understanding of how to fulfil the school’s legal and moral responsibilities to promote equality, tackle discrimination and foster positive relations, you will have the tools to establish a climate where all students feel valued and included, both within the classroom and in the wider school/ college setting.
All delegates will receive a bundle of 10 A3 Equality Code posters and a short introductory powerpoint presentation that introduces staff and students to the Equality Code. By introducing a whole school Equality Code, you will gain increased collaborative confidence in how to tackle prejudice and discrimination in a positive and assertive manner whilst empowering students to do the same. This course will give you the strategies to thread inclusive practice into planning, resourcing and delivering inclusive learning.
Our courses are always hands-on and interactive with plenty of time for discussions, debates and Q and A. Bring along an inquisitive mind and leave overflowing with new knowledge and ideas to embed inclusive practice in your school.
