Who should attend:

This course is aimed at all staff, volunteers and trustees in any setting.

Overview:

This topic is relevant to everyone as all organisations need to ensure equality of opportunity as well as embrace a diverse and ever changing world. This course looks at what the law says and examines how it is applied practically. It also examines discrimination and ensures services are accessible to all.

This course will also cover:

• Understanding the concept of diversity and the importance of ensuring equality at the workplace and when providing services

• Tackling the barriers to accessing services and understand how stereotyping and assumptions can impact service delivery

• Awareness of the ways in which discrimination and disadvantage can be effectively challenged in the workplace

• Confidence in providing service and care in a diverse cultural environment

Please note this accredited training is supported by Shropshire Council and managed by the Shropshire Infrastructure Partnership Voluntary & Community Support Team. To support community groups, voluntarily organisations and volunteers within Shropshire only. The cost of this session has been substantially subsided at £15.00 per delegate.

This training will be delivered via Zoom. Once you have successfully booked onto your course. You will be emailed a few days before the training date, to give you the meeting ID and password to join the session

All spaces are limited to two per organisation, however we do offer a waiting list facility. So, if you are unable to attend, please could you let us know as soon as possible via email so we can then offer your place to someone else.

Cancellations & Refunds

• Course places can only be cancelled up to 7 days before the event.

• Refunded course fees will include the full ticket price less the EventBrite Booking fee.

• If we have to cancel the event you will be refunded the full ticket price.
