Awareness of Equality & Diversity issues means that voluntary & Community sector organisations can ensure that their services are as accessible as possible.
The Equality Act 2010 places a legal requirement on organisations to consider the 9 protected characteristics that have been defined when providing goods and services. These characteristics are Age, Race, Disability, Sexual Orientation, Religion or Belief, Marriage/Civil Partnership, Sex (male or female), Pregnancy and Maternity, and Being Transsexual.
This course will look at how groups can embrace the concepts of equality and diversity and use them to develop effective models of good practice to improve their services.
