Description

A lecture night held at Writtle University College discussing the United Kingdoms equine welfare crisis, with speakers from House and Jackson Veterinary Hospital and Redwings Horse Sanctuary. The nights schedule being:

  • 6.00pm Doors open
  • 6.20pm "Horse Welfare in the UK 2018- an Overview"- Nic de Brauwere MRCVS, Chair of National Equine Welfare Council and Head of Welfare and Behaviour, Redwings Horse Sanctuary
  • 6.45pm "Animal Welfare Act 2006- How it Works and Where it Doesn't"- Chris House MRCVS House and Jackson Veterinary Hospital
  • 7.05pm Interactive Session- "What would you do if confronted with this?"- Andie Vilela, Education and Campaigns Manager Redwings Horse Sanctuary. A chance to join in and find out what would you do being confronted with a welfare issue.
  • 7.45pm Break
  • 8.00pm "Treating Welfare Cases in a Veterinary Environment- Rewards and Disappointments"- Michelle Wilson EVN House and Jackson Veterinary Hospital and previous speakers
