About this event

Food & Drink • Food

Around the autumn equinox our shores are brimming with wild edibles; it's a time of bountiful harvests and a perfect time to connect with nature through foraging. Seabuckthorn, a nutrient and flavour-rich superfood, takes center stage in culinary explorations during this period. Alongside it, a diverse array of mushrooms and seaweeds offers a bounty of flavors and textures. Emphasizing responsible foraging practices, wild food safety -with a focus on identification features as well as comparing similar looking toxic and inedible species-,sustainability and harvesting and preparation suggestions, our walk through the vibrant landscape will result not only in a basket full of wild goodies but also in a deeper connection with the natural world. Culminating in a wild food picnic, or, weather permitting, a beachside fire, the experience of savoring foraged delicacies is a celebration of the season, the joy of discovery, and the local ecosystem.
