Schools in more than 50 countries have discovered that an school partnership provides an ideal way for young people to learn about the wider world, become active global citizens and prepare for work in a global economy. There’s no more authentic way for pupils to learn about global issues than by working with their peers in another country.
Currently the network of all five Scottish Development Education Centres (DECs) is working together to deliver professional learning online to teachers across Scotland while face-to-face sessions are not possible. Each course will be led by one of the regional DECs: Scotdec, WOSDEC, One World Centre, Aberdeen for a Fairer World/Montgomery DEC and Highland One World.
All 32 local authority areas in Scotland are covered by a DEC – for full details, including locations and how to contact your local DEC, please visit ideas-forum.org.uk/about-us/decs
