Event description

Description

In June of 2018, Starbucks closed more than 1,200 stores across Canada so that its staff could participate in a “training session designed to address implicit bias”. What is implicit bias, how does it contrast with explicit bias, and what evidence is there that it exists? In this session, Nat will introduce the concept of implicit bias, its ethical implications, and he will discuss controversies over some of the evidence that psychologists have cited in support of the existence of implicit bias
