ERAxJoGA Training Series Editor-led Session 1: Writing for Publication

Please join our first Special Issue Training session on Writing for Publication. The session will be led by editor from JoGA with the aim to help authors understand what JoGA looks for in a publishable article. The session will guide participants in effectively transforming their research ideas, including work drawn from theses or dissertations, into well-structured, journal-ready manuscripts that clearly highlight their originality and contribution to the field.

ERAxJoGA Special Issue initiative:

This initiative is a collaboration between the Journal of Global Ageing (JoGA) and the British Society of Gerontology – Emerging Researchers in Ageing (BSG-ERA), launched at the BSG Annual Conference in June 2025. This initiative offers a collaborative, inclusive, and fully supported publishing model, created especially for early career researchers (ECRs). Rather than assuming that everyone already knows how to publish, we will support you throughout the journey — from developing your idea to submitting your article.

About ERA:

The British Society of Gerontology’s (BSG) Emerging Researchers in Ageing (ERA) provides students, early career academics, researchers, and practitioners with opportunities for learning, networking, and mentor support. We also welcome academics, researchers, and practitioners who are making a mid-career change to ageing studies. ERA co-chairs develop programmes and events informed by the suggestions and stated needs of our members.

Our aim is to create a space for the ageing research community around the world to communicate new ideas, findings, perspectives and research directions from all world regions.
