Event description

Description

Ergonomics looks at the relationship between a person and their working environment. If their posture or activities at work are causing or aggravating their symptoms, they will not improve with treatment. This course will give you the skills to analyse your patient’s work environment and give advice to make improvements. This could be from questioning, reviewing pictures/video or going into their workplace.

The focus is on computer users including mobile devices such as laptops, tablets and phones. It covers the DSE Regulations (Display Screen Equipment), legal requirements, correct setup, chairs and specialist equipment available. This will give you the ability to go into a workplace and offer DSE training and undertake assessments.

The course will also look at manual tasks and cover the manual handling regulations, including risk assessment and risk reduction.

Summary of Osteopathic Practice Standards (updated) covered in this course

A Communication and patient partnership - A2, A5, A6
