Description
WEDNESDAY 21st FEBRUARY
We are delighted to invite renowned Chef Ernst Van Zyl to take on the Real Junk Food Mcr challenge! Guesting as our Head Chef for one evening only, Ernst will create a beautiful multi course set menu using only ingredients that would otherwise go to waste.
Ernst Van Zyl’s style of cooking has been described as experimental, bold and meticulous by reviewers up and down the country. Most recently chef-patron at the Hanging Gate in Cheshire, Ernst was previously co-owner and chef at the Lord Clyde in Kerridge, the only pub in Cheshire to hold 3 AA Rosettes and one of only 4 North West pubs to appear in the top 50 UK Gastropubs list 2016. Ernst has previously also worked at Etrop Grange in Manchester, the Radisson Manchester, and London’s Park Lane Hotel. For self development; he did stages in the kitchens of The Fat Duck, Le Manoir au Qaut Saison, Noma, Restaurant Frantzen. Ernst is a big fan of nose to tail cooking and hates wastage of food and that’s why we thought of a collaboration with him.
