Join us for an evening of candid conversation and outrageous video in partnership with the Erotic Film Society, as we welcome multi-award-winning director Amory Peart. His distinctive gay, trans and hetero adult films have consistently challenged simplistic definitions of gender and sexuality, putting him in the forefront of queer film-making in Britain for more than two decades.
His current specialism is sharply observed, XXX parodies of mainstream feature films and television, aimed at straight audiences. Retaining his customary edge, output such as retro sci-fi The Bionic MILF, vampire epic Fang Bang, a tribute to much-loved prime minister Aggie Snatcher in The Iron Lady Garden and most recently, Friends With Benefits Street, gleefully subvert Hollywood clichés and porno expectations alike.
We are delighted to welcome Amory to talk about his richly varied career with Julian Marsh of the Erotic Film Society. This event is strictly over 18 only: proof of age may be requested. Our thanks to Amory Peart, Erotic Film Society, Peccadillo Pictures UK and Television X for their help in making this very special evening possible.
Erotic Film Society aims to develop appreciation and enjoyment of cinematic sex in all its many manifestations; to re-evaluate and celebrate the work of film-makers and performers who shaped this century-old, 'shadow' of the mainstream film industry; and to encourage quality in contemporary erotic cinema though a better understanding of the genre.
Cockadoodle: The Erogenous Art of Maurice Vellekoop, curated by Bren O'Callaghan, is supported by Arts Council England and Manchester Pride Fringe.
