About this event
ESEA Sisters are taking over the Hackney Chinese Community Services space on 3rd Feb 2022! Celebrate with us as well as raise funds for HCCS, who provides critical services and support for the local ESEA community.
A special note: this event for women/non-binary/trans/genderqueer people of ESEA heritage.
The evening will include:
- Hot Pot! No ESEA celebration is complete without incredible food. We will have a range of pots and ingredients for different dietary requirements and spice levels.*
- Karaoke! There will be a separate space for those who wish to belt out some tunes throughout the evening.
- Mahjong! Whether you're a seasoned player or want to learn the ropes, we'll have tables available for you to test or flex your skills.
- Raffle!** Your ticket price includes one raffle ticket for a chance to win a grand prize worth £250!
- Community care! Learn about how HCCS is serving our community and how you can help. We will also have information on other ESEA organisations and groups who are providing much needed services to our South East Asian, queer, undocumented and other underserved communities.
* We will be taking many precautions to help ensure Covid safety with the set-up, cutlery and utensils on the evening. More information about Covid safety in the Covid Health and Safety guidelines below.
** Important information about the raffle. Your ticket incudes one raffle entry on the night. We will register your attendance on the night and assign a raffle number. You will not be entered into the raffle if you do not attend the event. There will be an opportunity to purchase additional raffle tickets on the night. One prize per person, regardless of the number of raffle tickets purchased. Good luck!

Free ticket option
We want all members of our community - new or existing to feel like they can participate in our events, regardless of socioeconomic status or financial hardships. If you are an existing member or someone with ESEA heritage who identifies as a woman/non-binary/trans/genderqueer and are unable to pay for a ticket to the event and would still like to attend, drop us an email : esea.sisters@gmail.com. Anything you share with us about your personal circumstances will be kept completely confidential.

Covid Health and Safety
To ensure all attendees' safety, we require a negative lateral flow result registered with the NHS and confirmed via email or text on the day of the event . Tickets are non-refundable. You can register your results here: https://www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result
We will be checking the results at the door as well as temperature checks. Attendees must also wear masks when not eating or drinking at the event. Hand sanitising stations will be available and the organisers will be taking precautions for the hot pot, karaoke and mahjong activities.

About ESEA Sisters
Our community has faced many tough moments and it is part of what brought the ESEA Sisters together. We are a community dedicated to providing and supporting safe spaces for women (and other misogyny affected identities) of East and South East Asian descent.

About Hackney Chinese Community Services
Local Chinese residents founded Hackney Chinese Community Services in 1985 to help meet specific needs and support the welfare of the local East and South East Asian community. At our centre we provide a number of services for our local community including Hackney Chinese School, Elderly Luncheon Club, Chinese Advocate, Health Outreach, Mental Health, Youth Club, Carer, Singing and Dancing.
The event venue is wheelchair accessible.
