Do you work with migrant communities? Are you part of the jigsaw?
FREE EVENT THAT WILL HELP YOU IN YOUR WORK
The Newham ESOL Exchange is running a free event where we will be exploringbarriers that migrants face when arriving and settling in Britain.
In your contact with migrant communities do you hear questionslike this?
‘How can I register with a GP and access specialist health services?’
‘How can I get a national insurance number?’
‘Where can I go to find accommodation and how do I deal with landlords?
‘How can I register children at school?’
‘How does the education system work?’
‘Where can I find advice on housing, employment and benefits?’
‘What are my rights?’
This INTERACTIVE event will bring together organisations, volunteers and professionals who work with migrant communities in Newham. We want to hear from YOU - as an organisation working on the ground – about the barriers facing migrants and how you are working to help people overcome them. The event will connect you with useful people, organisations and resources and you will have the opportunity to share your work and knowledge with others. Please bring your publicity for the resource table.
So whether you are working in the area of health, housing and homelessness, welfare advice, or support migrant communities in any other way, come and join us to get connected and see how you fit in the jigsaw.
