About the Event

This event is a chance to find out more about how to get involved with Surrey's FOSS 2022 activity - attendees will learn more about ESRC FOSS, hear from the experiences of past organisers, and find out how to apply for funding to deliver their own FOSS event.

About the Festival

The ESRC Festival of Social Science is an annual celebration of the social sciences with a focus on reaching public audiences and young people.

The programme of FOSS events (this year held between 22nd October and 13th November 2022) aims to offer audiences thought-provoking insights into the UK’s leading social science research and how it impacts our social, economic, and political lives.

The majority of this year's FOSS events will be under the umbrella of general social science research and we welcome a broad range of topics from across the University of Surrey's schools and departments. You don't have to be a social scientist to take part! Take a look through our past FOSS events for inspiration!

In 2021 we had presenters from; The School of Law, Centre for Environment and Sustainability, CVSSP, School of Politics, Sociology, Psychology, Hospitality Tourism and Events, and more...

In addition - this year we are looking for a proportion of events to align with the theme of "My Local Area"
