Speakers & Performers:

Dr Elizabeth Gagen, Senior Lecturer from Aberystwyth University's Department of Geography and Earth Sciences. Dr Gagen is working on a project about a decommissioned mental hospital based in Swansea.

Alexandra Hird, PhD student based between Aberystwyth University's Departments of International Politics and Psychology. Alexandra will discuss the findings of her PhD which looks at the lived experiences within a Crisis House based in Wales. Crisis Houses provides short-term accommodation and support for people experiencing a mental health crisis. They have been described as “jewel in the crown of mental health care.” (Wales Online, 2018). Twitter

Eleri Phillips PhD student from Aberystwyth University's Department of Geography and Earth Sciences. Eleri is researching the impact natural green spaces has on the health of harder-to-reach groups in rural Wales.

MaDCaff is a Disability Arts Cymru project that organises pop-up cafes and open mic events, to provide opportunities for people affected by mental illness to showcase their musical talents and support others to do the same. Website | Facebook | Twitter

New Pathways provides a range of specialist counselling and advocacy services for women, men, children and young people who have been affected by rape, sexual abuse or trauma. Website
