Building on the ESRC Impact Workshop: Towards maximising international PhD students’ experience, we are very pleased to invite you to a mentoring workshop. In this half-day interactive workshop, Dr Kay Guccione (https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/ris/ecr/mentoring/kayguccione) will guide the delegates in how they and their students can design a mentoring programme, by covering the following topics:

• Introduction to the principles of mentoring.
• How it works in practice including time to experience and reflect on a mentoring conversation.
• What is peer mentoring?
• How peer mentoring can be used in a group setting
• How to run a writing mentoring group
• Sharing some of the outcomes from other peer mentoring programmes
• Key factors necessary for making mentoring work well.
• A suggested process model combining 1:1 and group mentoring (that you can adapt to your needs).
